Our Vision

“Believe IT… Grow IT … Send IT”

Picture

Believe IT - The “IT” is the Gospel. We want people to be brought out of darkness and into light by the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Grow IT - The “IT” is accomplished through the internal application of the Gospel. As we continue to imitate Jesus, He makes us look more and more like Him.

Send IT - The “IT” is the Gospel. We want to help to make disciples who, in turn, make disciples all over the world – reaching from our own communities to the unreached people groups of the world.

Accomplishing our Vision

When it comes to accomplishing the vision that we’ve been given for our
congregation, there are various means by which we can implement this
objective. Our path includes:

Picture

Preaching & Teaching – One of the primary functions of LCC is the preaching and teaching of the whole Word of God (Acts 20:27). If it’s in the Bible, it will be preached from the pulpit (even though we don’t actually have one). If it’s in the
Bible, it will be taught in all our classes – all of them! In our preaching and teaching, we will seek, above all, to be “Biblically correct.” If the teachings of Scripture happen to conflict with current societal standards, Scripture wins every time, and we make NO apologies for that fact! We will “speak the Truth in love,” doing all in our power to equip the Saints for service (
Ephesians 4:12).
Sunday School – Our Bible classes are an integral part of the life of the church. Through this program, one will be able to connect with people in a similar season of life as he/she is. The goal of our Sunday school hour is to allow us to
build relationships, to study God’s Word (through various types of studies), and to grow closer to Christ and each other in the process. We have classes for all ages, Birth – Senior Adults.
Children’s Ministry – It has been said that the “youth are the future of the church.” While there is much truth in this statement, what is often overlooked is the fact that the youth of the church are the church “right now.” This is the
primary reason that we are so committed to cultivating the spiritual lives of our youth. Our children’s ministry is split into two age groups: Birth-Age 5 (Firecrackers
) and K-5th Grade (Ignite). We seek to train up our children (Proverbs 22:6) so that they not only become committed followers of Christ, but also are followers that help create new followers, all while playing a role in the daily life of the church.
Youth Ministry – Our commitment to the youth of the church covers all ages. Upon reaching Jr. High, our children make the transition into the youth group (Encounter). It’s a place where our students and their families are loved, encouraged, challenged, and strengthened as they grow in their faith. Our primary goal is to help the youth develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by providing them the resources to grow in worship, ground them in the Word, and give them opportunities to witness and serve others. We also give them the skills and the support groups they need to make wise decisions at this critical time in their lives.
Personal Evangelism – As Christians, we experience the working of God in our own lives, and it should be our utmost desire to see the amazing Grace of God work in the lives of those who haven’t previously known Him or who have been away for an extended time. Where someone spends eternity can be influenced by what we do or don't do. Sharing Christ one-on-one can be an intimidating proposition, so we work together, as a team, to train and prepare for that which we will eventually do as individuals. Personal evangelism happens when we all commit to following God’s “divine appointments” while we’re living out our daily lives (John 3:36).
Community Outreach – We’re committed to living life “beyond our walls,” knowing that the ministry of the church isn’t confined to the church building. Part of “being the church” requires us to go beyond our comfort zone and engage the communities we call home. These outreaches are dual-focused, seeking to meet both the physical needs and the spiritual needs of the community. Often times, when we step out and address the physical needs, we are given the opportunity to address the spiritual needs as well. Meeting the lost “where they are,” with “what they need,” and doing so in a “language they can understand.”
